hey guys just wondering what exactly do i need or will need to replace when i finnaly buy new injectors... thinkin about stage 2 beans diesel injectors. what you guys think about reman. ones? currently got 100hp chip stacks intake intercooler 6in lift and 37" with the new injectors and my lift and tires think the trans will take it? also upgrade hpop? kinda on a limited budget so... thanks anyways
Well my cusins tranny is starting to screwup and we put in an oem ford reman tranny back in October and he has 2's with sock wheels and tires so what does that tell you? Lol unless you baby that thing then I can't see a tranny lasting more Han a year or yar and a half being a daily driver. Unless you got a manual tranny hen just start looking for a new clutch and you'll be good fo a while. I got 1's on a stock clutch at the moment and I'm jut waiting for it. Start slipping even tjoits only got 3500 miles on it
Ya if your running an E4OD then your going to be looking at a new tranny after a little while. How many miles are on the tranny? And I'm still running the 15* HPOP and unless i am deep in the throttle for more than 10 seconds its ok, but II's deffinetly require an upgraded HPOP to get the full potential. And beans has a great product but i recommend that everyone goes to Jim at Rosewood Diesel, DIY-Injectors.com here's his site. He's a sponsor on here and he is a great guy to deal with, and he has the best prices around so being on a budget isn't as big a problem. Which ever source you go with you will be very happy with the out come, but when i upsize my sticks again they will definetly go back to Jim.
haha yea looks like ill be needing an up grade with the tranny its gots 94000 miles. its an auto tho. so could i just upgrade stock tranny or have to go aftermarket? but sweet ill check them DIY injectors sometime. but i will be ok with the stock hpop for a while and upgrade later? or shud i just go with stage 1s?
with 94,000 it should still last a good amount of time as long as it was taken care of over the years. I am still running my stock HPOP so it is possible to use it for a while, seeing as i've had mine since october 2008. As for the upgrading the tranny, you could put an upgrade billet torque convertor and a shift kit in it and it will hold up to the power much better. But the only sure fire way of pretty much not ever having a problem is going with a fully built tranny.
ok so i been throwing around just gettting stage 1 injectors but i was looking at dynomite diesel and seen they had nozzle tips.so nozzles vs. injectors also it says if you already have a chip you wont see full potential of nozzles? whats that mean? Dynomite Diesel - 94-97 Ford 26 LPM Injector Nozzles 7.3 Dynomite Diesel
I don't see any way possible you'll get 75 - 100 hp out of a set of 98 cc stock injectors by just adding larger nozzles.
I know Hypermax and a few others have been throwing large nozzles on stock injectors for years, but nothing beats a good 'ole set of 160cc Stage-1 injectors in an OBS for all aorund performance.
And dang, for $900 for just the nozzles...that's a lot of coin.
For near that price I can do a set of 160cc Stage-2's that will produce 200 hp over stock...

Hey Jim, not to be a thread jacker, but I do have a question. My cousin put a set of your stage 2 injectors in his f550. He said it helps with power big time, but it seems to just poor the smoke out on anything other than stock setting. Is that normal with the split shot injectors? I haven't actually talked to him, but my brother drove it for a little while and said it just pored the smoke out, almost made it hard to drive. Again my cousin has not complained, i am curious for myself.

That is all determined if the turbo is big enough and if the tunes are just dumping fuel in...

I'll second what Matt said.
Stage-2's really require a larger than stock turbo if you want to use all that power.
BUT you can run them with a stock turbo with good tunes. I'd say he needs new tunes.
