Thats kind of what i want to do because how often to you see a 66 styleside with 15 inches of lift and 44s. and it will be at some point more of a show truck than anything just because it does have so much sentimental value to me that i dont want to roll it or something along those lines.
basically i do want a monster mudder but i want to be able to take it to a local car show and have it be built right and everything powdercoated and a nice paint job so that when someone walks by it they can see that it is truly and wheelin machine but its also show quality.
I'm going to agree and say to run the rocks. with that much power, and 44s, you'll be snapping those front drive shafts. That and just the look of them under your pickup will catch attention. Plus with all the aftermarket support they now have you should be able to make them "streetable" with the disk brake conversions/8 lug conversions. I'd think of running a 3 link in the front though unless your going full hydro on the steering. It causes ALOT less bump steer. Your truck is going to drive like hell no matter what you do because of the 44s... just the nature of the beast. Also you might think of putting in a C6. A nicely built one will hold up and not go threw so any clutches.
i would have to agree with these guys if your gunna build something to take in the mud itll never be a real show truck. most show vehicles dont even see rain let alone mud lol.
I joke around with my friends and tell them mine will be half show/half go. I'm going to wheel it, but plan on not beating the snot out of it. I want to enjoy it, but be able to clean it up and take it on the town... and realistically I won't be able to do much more then that. Yea I could take it to a cruise or something along those lines, but no won't be winning any awards for best in show.
ya thats for sure. i plan on doing 18 inches of lift with fox coilovers all the way around. but like you said build it as big as i really want to so i dont regret it. but i would like to not beat the crap out of it so i could give it a bath and go pick up some girls and be proud of my rig.
oh ya and i know that, even on 38s with my stock radius arms and brackets my caster is a bit off and that sucker wanders goin down the freeway so bad i only hit the freeway when i have to. so im full on ready for it to drive bad at best on the street with that big of a lift and tires.
Exactly, i can do dana 60 front dana 70 rear for now and see how i like them and if i dont like them then i can just save up some and go buy a set of rocks then sell the dana 60 for a grand.
