I'm planning on rebuilding a 302 in the spring, I want to get more horspower out of it but I dont have a huge budget to spend. So I was wondering what changes I could make to get more horsepower out of it?, And has anyone bored out a 302 before, and can it be done?. And is there different kinds of 302's or are they all the same?
There is a guy on the FTE mailing list for 61-79 which has a lot of experience on propane powered engines. He might have some insight for you if you plan on keeping it propoane powered. I think that's a neat option you should stick with. I've contemplated that myself. As for 302 builds there should be good support for such an endeavor. I now there are radical stroker builds that can be done with that block. Have fun.
Joe, Nearly every Hot Rod magazine, for car & truck is filled with all kinds of info about the 302 - 5.0, and I'm sure thay have related web sites for older storys.
Go build your engine, and if you can't start it come back and we'll give you a hand.
Good Luck

I friend of mine said he could get me a good deal on a fresh rebuild 351W from a freind of his. So I think thats what i'm gonna do. That probably would be the fastest way to gain more horses.
Thank's for all the help, I know I can always count on the Ford Guy's here!
