C6 TRAN
Can anything be done to the c6 tranny to lower 1st gear. While hunting I climb and decend off some steep hills and the 1st gear dosnt slow the truck down much, even when the transfer is in low gear. Short of putting in a standard 4 speed is there anything else I can do? Thanks in advance for your input. I have a 400M with a np205 tranfer case.

Theres a place called A1 Transmissions that sell a low ratio gear set for the C6. It says in their ad that 1st gear ratios can be had anywhere between 8 to 21 percent lower than stock and 2nd around 10 percent lower than stock while 3rd stays 1:1. Their number is (818)884-6222. I read about it but it doesnt give any prices or any other info.
