to all of you who have restored an old vehical, i don't think you relize how skillful you are. i managed a manufacturing factory for 20 years and can appreciate the many crafts, skills, and handiwork it take to complete one of those projects. in addition, you have a lot of planning, engineering, budgeting, researching, and problem solveing.
i think you can do anything you ever decide to do.
i just thought i would compliment you.
i think i speek for everyone here that it wasnt easy, but 95% of the time you like what you accomplish, the other 5% tends to be dissapointing for one reason or another, but thanks for the compliment ...
It's amazing how many skillsets I have improved working on my project truck('62 F100 stepside).
Having fun watching my neighbors check the progress of my work...they're too yuppy to get their hands dirty but they look at automotive skills as something they don't want to bother with. I'm conveniently "too busy" to diagnose their autos problems, though. If someones "not going to get after it with the tools", then I just figure they can pay $$ for a diagnosis. I'm so glad that I can hang out and exchange ideas on this board, as the guys bring a wide range of perspective to auto problems. I've also developed side email buds who like to get an idea/opinion on what to do when stuck. I have all the time in the world for the guys on this board, as they have bailed my *** out of trouble more than once with excellent results. Here's a toast to all of us that don't mind sweatin' for the things we LOVE...Ford trucks!!
