i have a 75 f-100 with a 460 in it it has the old four speed still i would like to change to a newer five-speed because of the overdrive the truck wont be off road very much after done. also looking for places to buy parts from. thanks

stinger, we are gonna need a heads up here, I could be wrong but I don't think 5 speeds that you are looking for, will bolt up to that engine. You are on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

The first year ford came out with the 5 speed is the ZF trans in 1987. This trans to use would require a lot of modifications, one being the clutch system as the ZF uses a hydraulic clutch and not a linkage, the flywheel would have to be changed for the smaller quick release clutch system. And no you can not just change the bell housing as the ZF is a one piece case transmission.
