Will my desired setup work?

I had posted this elsewhere and it was suggested to try it here.

I have a stock 75 carbed 300 bored out .060 over. I would like to install all of the EFI stuff from a 93 4.9l and turbo this set up. Will this set up work together? If not what mods would I need to make it work.

Jim

Are you meaning to convert the engine to the factory fuel injection setup and then turbo it?
From what I hear, it's much easier to turbo a carb'd engine because you can avoid all the headaches of the computer controlled stuff, especially the stock one, which is barely capable of accepting much, if any, mods as it is.

Another forum to try is:

FORDSIX PERFORMANCE • View forum - Turbo, Supercharger, and Nitrous

Turboing 300's is a common topic there.

It's OK no more of a run around than I have already been through. As I run around I am picking up bits and pieces of info to achieve my final goal.

Yes, I want to covert my 60 over carbed 300 to EFI than at some point add the turbo. I Guess my main question is if the 93 EFI stuff will physically bolt up and if the computer would handle this. It seems it will bolt up but the ECU would limit the set up. Thanks for the input it all helps.

The EFI stuff will bolt right on like it was made for it. About the only difference will be the location for the fuel pump, which is on the block for the carb setup and in the gas tank for the EFI. A block off plate is simple enough fix for that.

As for the stock computer, it's super finicky and doesn't like much, if any, changes to the setup. You could either work with the carb setup (which is what I'd love to do if I had the resources), or convert to an aftermarket, such as Megasquirt, fuel injection system.

I think a select "few" have been able to turbo the stock EFI setup, but from what I hear, if anything's wrong, the engines burn up in about 5 - 10k miles.
