Another Dead CDR???

Yeah its crazy, I know! - Intake and CDR

Fellas,
is that bits of the CDR? I took it off for some maintenance and because it looked oily in the intake. The base of the cdr was also apparently leaking? There was a mess in the valley pan that smelled of oil not fuel. Thoughts?

THERE IS ALWAYS OIL RESIDUE IN THE INTAKE........ HOWEVER THE AMOUNT IS IMPORTANT... IF ITS DRIPPING OF THE HOLD DOWN BOLT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CDR VALVE.

THE TUBE PIECES CAN BECOME BRITTLE AND CRACK... NOT UNCOMMON.... EXPENSIVE PARTS..... $60 I PAID LASTIME

Nope just the tube and base seal on the valley pan. Remove the center bolt and screen and check it out........ I think its just the inside of the intake it aint pretty.

anyone know of a super cheap source for CDR's? I think this one is still functional as it holds pressure(finally dried off to do the mouth test) but ford here and other places want at least 145 for them. I can paypal anyone who can find them cheap!!! haha

In post #7 Wreckinball said "I think this one is still functional as it holds pressure(finally dried off to do the mouth test)"

I understand what the CDR does..... same as PCV in a gas but how is 'the mouth test' done?

Thanks in advance!

you put your finger in the back of it that mates to the intake body and the suck or blow(no jokes homos) to test the spring movement and if it can maintain pressure. It just seems to make a mess so fast i dont know if it might be deteriorated or not. It may still work ok but can it keep up with the changes i made in its condition? i dont know.
