I have an '87 E150 van here and the seatbelt is no longer latching, which is kind of scary. The lower part which goes to the floor is the problem. There's no way to take apart the latch that I see, looks like the parts were stamped into place, and of course it's all sewn onto the strap attached to the floor. There's a plastic housing around that and I can't easily see the attachment to the floor.
How does that even attach? This is a conversion van and there's carpet and stuff built up around it. I'm kind concerned about how difficult this job is going to be.
Well, perhaps not any junk yard as, at least in my area most pre 1990 vehicles have been crushed by now. There are other retailers of seat belts on the web, as I found when my belt retractor broke. Not related to Ford, but when I got my Jeep Renegade a few years back, many external motor parts were of JC Whitney and all save one I had to replace due to shoddy craftmanship. Buyer beware.
btw: If you really get stuck, I might be able to grab a few from my local junkyard for a low price $ the next time I go. I am upgrading the seats in my van this month.
