I want to buy 4X4 excursion (2000-2003 year) with 100 000 to 150 000 miles on it with PSD 7.3. I was checking autotrader and some dealer sites and everybody is asking waaaay above Kelly blue book value. What should I pay for such a vehicle? Thanks for any info
Kris
yeah average prces in northwest have been around 18000 and most have been unmolested daily drivers. no mods or lift. If you can get a private sail loan then you may be able to find one around 14000 on craigs list. You just happen to be looking for a hard to find truck that isnt made any more. But good luck I hope you find one
I was looking for the same vehicle back in May and got lucky. I live in montana and there aren't many out here. I only see 3-4 a week. I found mine with 102k 2002 7.3 and stole it for 12,500. Since I got mine, I have seen at least 2 that I would have bought in May. No regrets though. I found that most are sold through private owners. I looked for months on the lots and used car lots with no luck. Good luck. Keep your eyes open while driving.
I purchased a 01 7.3 with 142000 for $13000 last month, i had been watching all the used car websites for about 4 months, there was a few in this price range that i had found, but by the time i had the fiance's blessing they were gone. If you are patient and the fast acting you will find one give it time.
I second the FAST ACTING advice. As I was picking up the 01 less than 24hrs after it was posted online, two.... I repeat two dudes were coming to look at it that morning... and came to talk to me after they found out it was sold.

There are excursions everywhere down here in Florida.
on some vehicles KBB is very accurate, sometimes its way off
i remember about 10 yrs ago i was looking at dodge vipers and they said they are around 31k and not one in the whole country was below 40k at the time, for the year/miles that i was looking at....
just go to autotrader and do a nationwide search and you will find your answer
