hello, im new to this site. I have a 4x4 94 f150 with the 302 in it. i was recently driving home going about 40 when a loud grinding noise started coming from the front drivers side. Scared the ***** out of me. Once i slowed down to 25-30 it went away. Baffled me. The next day i started driving it in the morning and the grinding started at about 10 mph. I put it in 4wd and the grinding stopped. I have no clue what it could be. HELP PLEASE!!!
I had and Explorer once that had them and they would kick in whenever they wanted to , I put a set of Warn manual hubs on it and never had any more trouble out of it... Mine was right side..
I'm not saying you need new locking hubs, just giving you something to check..
