About a 5-6 weeks ago I had my truck shut off when I put the truck in 4wd high, truck was in reverse. Later that day the ABS light came on(intermittenly). 2 weeks later the abs was on all the time and the o/d light finally started to flash, no speedometer. Replaced the VSS and nothing. Last week we replaced the OSS and it worked for 1.6 miles, then all the lights came back and again no speedometer. Not sure why it worked for 1.6 miles(reset trip when speedometer went out). Any ideas would be accepted and appreciated.
Did you check the wiring real close on the VSS on the rearend.. read a post last month where the wires got damaged.. maybe from a rock..
Then there was post saying the oil in the rear end had metal flakes to the point where it affected the VSS sensor..
Tom I posted the other day on this in the MN forum. It is possible the plug may have come loose. I can check on that this week if you would like. Only take like 5 min. I just want to make sure it's not something simple like that.
If i'm not mistaken, problems with the oss or vss will usually cause your OD to blink and create a code. I'd try checking for codes to help isolate the problem. My ABS light tends to come on when I have a problem with my front wheels abs sensor or wire.
