I recently purchased a gauge cluster from a 1965 pickup, however the gauges are the same circular ones used in my '63. The panel came with a flasher switch, the flasher unit and a lense for the flashers. All of the wires on the switch and circular unit have been cut, can anyone help me figure out where they hook up to? There are 3 wires on the unit and 4 on the switch, however they arent the same color. Please help. Thanx ahead of time
Replaced engine, headlight, and taillight with reproduction harnesses and found the 65 F100-F750 wiring manual invaluable. Also, very helpful when the electrical grimlens surface. Majority of the Ford part supplier's carry them, or purchase directly from the source; Jim Osborn Reproductions for $7 plus S/H. Posting link to diag. of circuit, hope of some help.
Good to hear diag. helped. Been tracking electrical gremlins, after replacing horn brush now the damn horn don't work. Barnulli's law; if it aint broke leave well enough alone. It's a basic circuit so should not take long to track problem down. This is where the wiring manual comes in handy.
Just for info purposes, another book I found helpful is the 65 Ford truck Body/Interior Assembly Manual, came in handy for reassembling the truck. Only mention because if decide to purchase the wiring manual the assembly book comes from same source, Jim Osborn Reproduction, may save few bucks for shipping.
