I'm stumped. The wires you hooked on the solenoid, the large cable that comes from the positive battery post as well as all the other smaller wires with the big eyelet should all go on one solenoid bolt. The other large cable(the one that goes to the starter) should be the ONLY cable that goes on the other solenoid bolt.
I hope I am correct here. I am assuming Ford didn't go with the other style starting system until '92 when they changed the body style.

yeah that's how it's hooked up. in the previous post i was responding to another post suggesting i should use a push button to momentarily connect the + to the starter (same thing the solenoid should do but doesn't .) i just finished reading on another site saying it was the starter that is now busted, the guy checked and it was. I'll check it today.
just out of curiosity , the starter cable goes on the right or left? I have the starter on the post closest to the battery and the + terminal with all the wires on the right .

***update** i went up to the storage place where the truck is and i was going to see if changing the + supply cable for the starter would help. Then i kept getting shocked,literally...the storage place is under duke power power supply lines. You could hear a buzzing sound coming from them, long and behold when i checked the frame for voltage it said .3xxVDC then 9.7VAC between the frame and the air(atmosphere) and 40.1VAC frame to pavement. Every time i would touch the frame i felt a nice shock.
Wondering if this is the cause for my electrical problems right now since the body is also used as GND but instead of GND it finds AC voltage. What can i do? the battery was disconnected but i had just rained and there was a storm on top of us. i posted some pics as proof. pics

Alright i went up there today and this time the shocks were worse, 49.3 VAC and duke power went out there and didn't find anything so looks like i'm gonna be towing the truck to another facility and working on it. Hopefully all that AC current didn't fry anything. I'll post once i can get it in a neutral environment.lol
btw:does the 1991 xlt lariat come with a under hood aux fuse/relay box? only see the one under the dash.
