Restarting Problems
I have a 2001 Excursion 7.3. Starts good when plugged in or when cold.After it is driven for a while it does not want to restart.It does not do it all the time. I turn on the key wait for light, turn key and it will just crank and crank.After re cycling glow plugs 3 or 4 times it will usually start.But on 2 occassions it did not start. The glow plug control module has been replaced, but did not cure problem .I do not have any CES lights. I have read on here how to check relays and glow plugs , but not for Excursion/california trucks.What should I check now? Thanks Brad

Might be a sticking IPR. If you've got glow plug issues, you'd see white smoke when it started and you'd have a CEL. You might try unplugging the ICP sensor when it doesn't want to start to see if that helps. How old is the engine oil?
