fuel tank sending unit
hey guys! I think that the sending unit for the rear tank in my 86 is going bad.... I filled the tank today and the gauge showed 1/4. Im planning on putting a new 38 gallon tank.... should I replace sending unit?

I was just looking at LMC truck and seems there are 2 different types of sending units... A mechanical fuel pump located on the engine and an electric pump mounted on sending unit in tank. How do I tell which one I have?

Follow the fuel line down from the carb. If you run into a fuel pump mounted down low on the side of the engine, then you have a mechanical pump. I would bet you have a electric one in the tank though.
