Why not? They are way more easy to find than a shorty.

well if i could turn back time, i would have told my previous owner to fold the flaps,

folding the flaps is no harder than lining body lines up and hiding a welded seam on the sides,

also you don't fold the flaps in one piece, where they radius changes you make a cut, thus allowing the flap to fold easier, plus you never, ever see the folded flaps, but you do look at the box sides every day, and if the body lines are not perfect, and you don't hide the vertical welded seam perfectly, then your box will look terrible,

now i understand, there are guys on here that are expert body guys, but remember not everyone is, and body work labor ain't cheap,

i was lucky, my father did a lot of body work when he was younger, and continued doing it a little bit over the years, thus i got off lucky, and my box looks great, but if i didn't have someone i knew that did body work, well i would have been up the creek with out a paddle,

sure anyone can attempt to do body work, and learn, but when your spending money in the first place on cutting a long box down, and painting and possibly doing a frame up restoration on a truck, well you want the finished product to look great,

thus the folded side skins is the easiest and best way, and it looks the best when finished, besides actually finding a short box
