64 F350 restoration

Hello, I recently purchased a 64 F350 (used as a local farm truck). Cost of truck: $500 and brake machine trade (worth $400). It runs well and has a dump flat bed with dual wheels.
First I had a exhaust system put on truck for $60 and 6 chicken trade. Second, I had the frame, rims and bed sandblasted: $200 (by cousin) included primer paint job on sandblasted area.
Third, during sandblasing I had several problem show up on metal dump bed. Part of the decking had large holes and the front bed frame had excessive rust damage, So, much rust that I had to have a local metal shop replace the front foot of the bed and frame. It looked like it was water damage from material sitting up next to the front of the dump bed for extended periods, like farm organic materials. Cost $324
Forth, I had the wheel painted gloss black by uncle, (he owns a body shop and is where I plan to restore the cab) cost: yet to be determined.
Fifth, I had new tires, tubes and liners put on rims. I looked around for one piece 6 bolt rims for this model. Based on the info available to me, one piece rims do not exist in this bolt pattern. We mounted the wheels with the two piece rims and 3 of the 6 are warped. I put them on the back. I have not been able to find replacement locally at this time. The truck now rides alot better and I would have waited until later in the restoration to mount the tires but they were dry rotted and I was afraid they could blow out at any time. Cost $623.
Sixth, I found a friend (Tucker) with a F100 long wheel base truck he recently purchased for $175. It had been parked since 1985 in a field and he purchased it for the windshield and the rear bumper for a F100 that he is restoring.
On my F350 cab, I need to replace/repair the front left fender (dented bad from a wreck), both doors (large dents), hood (has dents and is seperating at seams) and windshild (wiper marks and rock damage), drivers side window (several cracks), rust damage on left and right side of back of cab at bottom, front bumper (mine is missing), cab roof (dented from farm workers sitting on top of it), and last but not least the truck seat ( mine is missing the foam on the drivers side and half the vinyl.

Tucker is going to sell me the seat.
Left front fender ( I know the fender is for a 15 inch wheel and mine is a 16 but after a few measurements we determined I can cut one -two inches off of inside of the fender, following the transition and reproduce the fender. I'll then have roll/bend the edge in. It looks like this is the only defference between a F100 and a F350 cab.
Bumper (remember mine is missing).
Both doors and the drivers side window.
Cost yet to be determined. I am to meet him at 7:30 in the morning to start stripping the truck of the parts. I will update with the cost after I know more.

Questions: The generator is not charging, should I repair it or replace it with a alternator?
Is there such a thing as a one piece rim that fits a 61-66 f-350 six bolt pattern? Local sources say no.
Do these trucks have a two speed transmission? It has two levers of the cab floor aside from the gear shifter. One operates the dump bed up/down.
The other could be a brake? If it is, it does not work.
Could it be a transmission gear?
Should/could I remove the crossover on the 292 exhaust and put in dual exhaust system? Would it help engine preformance? HP?
Where can I buy a new windshield?
I have a many more questions but it is getting late and I guess this is enough for now. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Not much help here. The windshield (and cab) are the same as the smaller F series trucks, so any windshield supplier should be able to get you one as they are still available.
Could the extra shift lever be for a 2 speed rear? If not, perhaps a parking brake that functions on the driveshaft. Not aware of those on these trucks, but it's not unusual to find those with burned up linings from guys forgetting to release them.

Update

Today I was able to get a replacement left front fender, two doors (with windows), a replacement bench seat, a front bumper(mine was missing) and a hood liner for the cab (my liner was missing and I did not mention it last night). Cost: I traded a greenhouse fan for the lot.
I also found a replacement generator down at my store and I plan to try and put it on tomorrow after I haul off the trash and mow. If I don't take care of these things first she is going to fire me, "she said".
She also said "I had messed with that stupid truck all week". Imagine, jealous of a truck. I remember when it was the women, now she is jealous of a truck. God, I must be getting old.

LOL, and welcome to the club...age makes no difference, if it's not one thing, it's another! If women aren't jealous about some (imaginary) gal, it's usually about something you collect.

One of the levers on the floor could be for the P.T.O. If a truck has a 2 speed rear end (usually an Eaton 1350), there will be an electrically operated switch and **** attached to the floor gearshift lever, about 3 inches below the gearshaft ****.

If you post your axle and transmission codes found on the Warranty VIN Plate (on left door face near the latch), we can decode them for you. The P.T.O. was a special order.

If you don't have a handle for a parking brake under the left side of the dash, one of the floor levers operates the drum type emergency brake = which works off the driveshaft. You will find a large drum, inside will be two 9" X 2" brake shoes (or similar).

Verify you got the correct front fenders, there are two different types. One fender has a 36" wheel opening, the other is wider, and has a 45" wheel opening to accomodate larger tires and wheels.

The **** to engage the PTO is located to left of the steering wheel. I will crawl under the truck tomorrow and see what the unknown lever attaches to. It does have a small button on top of it. This smaller button could be a lock or engages something inside the linkage?

Thanks for the info. To be honest I do not know what part/most of that means. Which a good/bad?

Specifically;
F = Warner T-98 4 Speed

23 = Spicer (Dana) 70 / 5.13-1 / 7400 lb. Rear Axle Capacity

I know the truck is geared low. The speed and milage don't work, more than likely they have not worked in years and years.

I got the truck out of Milan Tn. Mostly cotton and soy bean farm county.

It has the original paint. It looks like the last time it was titled was 1991 according to the registration info I have.

Thanks again for the decode.

I can translate that a little.
F = Warner T-98 4 Speed - means its a Big bullet proof transmission with a granny gear, and an even lower reverse rear. Nice to have when you're backing up with a load.

23 = Spicer (Dana) 70 / 5.13-1 - Big strong axle with realy low gears

Thanks for the link to the rims, I have been looking for them for over 3 months. I finally gave up and had mine sandblasted and painted.

I also checked out the mystery lever today. Turns out it does go to the drum type emergency brake you mentioned. Like you said, "You will find a large drum, inside will be two 9" X 2" brake shoes (or similar)." Do these two brake shoes have metal pads mounted to them or are they liners? How hard are they to change out? Price? Easiest way to preform the new shoe replacement? Where can they be purchased?

I have no experience with the drum type parking brakes, but I do have the parts illustration: Drum with shoes (looks just like regular brake shoes), featuring riveted lining, two springs, lever and etc. A simple assembly.

FTE sponsor Green Sales has either new lining or replacement brake shoes. They are in Cincinnati Ohio, their number is 800-543-4959

2-B9T-2620-A .. Brake Shoe Lining

or

2-C3TZ-2648-A .. Brake Shoe w/Lining.

Since this same setup was used on large (C550/700; B/F/N/LN350/700) Ford trucks since 1957, your local NAPA store may have the parts, and the old shoes can be relined.

Great info, I may have them down at my store. I will check it out after church, I may have a set to fit it.
Last Aug. I purchased a NAPA parts store and industrial supply. My wife wanted to open a plant nursery. The store had been closed for a few years due to a series of family deaths. NAPA had already taken back the bulk of their stuff for so much money on the dollar. The rest was still there. I sold the bearings,sprockets, couplings, and seals to a company out of PA. The DORMAN rack and contents went to WI and the HYDRAULIC hose machine and fittings just left last month to MISSISSIPPI. I still have most of the spark plugs, lights, shocks, struts, fenders and more inventory, water pumps, alt's, clutch kits, flywheels, o-rings, springs, ect. not to mention the industrial supply inventory. I guess there are 5-6 tractor trailer loads of that stuff left, the bulk of the weight being nuts and boilts. I am not just saying this and until someone actually sees this for themselves it is hard to believe but there is somewhere around 160,000 lbs of nuts and bolts of every kind ever made there in the store. It is a 13,000 sf building. At one time they were an area distribuition center for industrial supplies dating back to the 50's. I had over 10,000 bearings alone, 15,000 seals, 1000 sprockets and 800 couplings. But like I said I sold that stuff already.

I recently bought a a local nursery with 7 greenhouses and I plan to mount them to this building and make a big plant center like Wal Mart/lowes/Home DEPOT have.

Anyway, I noticed your a FORD retired parts manager. At one point they had bought out a FORD dealerhip and I have about 2-3 pickup truck loads of OEM FORD parts. Everything from engine rebuild gasket kits to floor mats. I do not know what is there or what it fits but there are 3 rows of it 60 foot long in the store. I do know the bulk of it more than likely fits 80's model stuff since that is when they bought it out. CHAPMAN FORD was the name.

Anyway if you need any obsolite bolts let me now, I have TONS.

I just got back from church and I have to admit my mind was on those pads for the emergency break. i went straight from church to my store and I found at least two dozen sets of pads and liners. NOW if I could only figure out how to read the books. Maybe one of them fits my truck. I keep getting stuck at 1965. That is as far back as the books I have go. I have almost 40 FOMOCO dealer parts books. dating from 1965-1990.
I also found 3 books by MOTOR dated from the 70's. Two are motor books. a 1971 book that has 65-71 and a 77 book that has 71-77. The other is A Transmission repair book by MOTOR also. It is really neat. Has color diagrams of the hydraulic system and everything. I am going to sit down and read in it today and see if I can find my Transmission.
