Why would there ever be a NASCAR edition?

Back in 1998 was the 50th Anniversary of the F series truck and of NASCAR and Ford decided to celebrate that by producing NASCAR Sp. Ed. F-150.

From what I know there were 3,000 total(1,500 auto trans & 1,500 manual trans) and there were only available in the states, believe in only about 15 states. I got mine when I use to live in Louisville,Ky and when I moved back to Ont Canada it came with me!!!!

There are two of the NASCAR Trucks in the small town (Leesburg, FL) that I live in. One is owned by a Female fiend of My Wife. The other looks like it belongs to a painter and it is beat to *****. My Wife's friends truck is in near perfect condition and only has 88,000 miles on it. She is the original owner and treats the truck like her baby.

I have one that I bought in 1998 when they came out ,4.6,5 speed tranny,3.73 differential,Nascar name on the seats, floor mats also w/logo and Nascar Racing wheels(black). It have 138,000 miles on it.I used to race it a lot w/powerdyne s/c untill I blew the engine racing in the freeway against a 700 series bimmer (i won too).Second engine is from a interceptor and so far is running great,NO MORE S/C,just n/a for now.I also have a 2003 Lightning and a 1990 5.0 Mustang LX.But theren't to many on the road. Here where I live (Gilbert,Az) I was the only one untill last year that I saw one driving by a old person.Joe

I'm an old person...so it's said. My 99 is slowly crawling up on 99,000 miles. I used to drive mine like a baby, also. But my income and whole life has changed, so eventually, scratches and minor dents started appearing on the box. My brother loaned/gave me an F250 to use, but in winter, it's tires aren't as good as the ones on my NASCAR baby.

Always gotten nice stares and compliments on her, until lately. Sniffle, sniffle.

Our Friend recently got in a minor accident. The door and side of the bed were slightly damaged. Believe it or not she found a bed in a local junkyard. It was in perfect shape and even still had the original decals on it, which is the reason she wanted it. The body shop had told her that the chance or replacing the decals with originals were slim to none.

The donor truck that the bed came off was a Cash for Clunker Truck and was in near perfect shape, what a waste of a cool truck.

MPG on nascar w/automatic

Any idea what the mpg is on the Nascar model. I read where they had a different program (fou1) because of the Rousch split tip exhaust.
Thanx

Our friends has a five speed and I know that she gets less than 20 mpg and IIRC it's closer to 16 on the highway. When I see the owner I will ask for a better number.

Was just on autotrader and 4 were listed. One stock and checkout the one w/the graphics.
I recently got mine (50,000 miles on it) and love it. Always wanted one, but couldn't afford them when new in 1998.
