i am in the middle of making the mount for my warn winch and i want to be able to mount it front and back. i am a do it yourselfer and i was wondering were i could get some plug connections so i can run wires to the back of the truck and just plug them in. i looked at lowes and home depot but they didnt have nothing that would work for how heavy of a gauge wire the winch uses anyone have any ideas?
Well...this may sound far-fetched,but I had an "APU" connector on my airplane. It was connected directly to the Battery, and primarily used for "boosting" in cold weather, and it provided an external plug on the aircraft to eliminate having to pull the cowling.
If you have a local Aircraft parts place,Im sure you can get what you need there. It aint gonna be cheap, but being made out of Aircraft grade materials, itll outlast the truck.
Go for 'anderson' plug there is no other alternative, these are used on fork trucks, sweepers, golf buggies etc. Should be easily availble on e bay.
You can geta blankin rubber for when the wiinch is not mounted, this will stop salt - water getting at the terminals.
Copy this number and bang it into e bay - 250528482266
DO NOT FORGET THE Fuse, most important try the mega fuse it does hav its own holder and a variety of differenet amperages from 60 to 250 found this on e bay (only the fuse though) - 220407649826

Reason: additional info
I only connect a hot to my winches and ground through the frame, so I use single welding cable connectors (hot side = female, winch side - male). They come in various sizes and are reusable.
