I have a 79 F150 standard cab and want to replace my old truck seat. Has anyone used Suburban Seating Products? I like the 40-20-40 setup, but the prices are on the high side. Any help would be great.
There's another place you can try...I'm pretty sure the website is called Discountvantruck . com. They have a selection of 40-20-40 truck seats as well, and you can outfit the seats with options like power, heat, power lumbar, etc.
Might be worth a shot...not sure about their prices, tho.
I went to the junk yard picked up a nice seat out of a 94 f150 with an armrest I had to reuse my brackets but it is a bolt in project the swap in easy only cost me 150 bucks only good thing to come from cash for clunkers
I got a nice bench with a fold down armrest with cup holders out of a 88 lariet from the local u-pull for $20. I pulled it on a half price wednesday. I also seen a lot of nice seats from the Cash for clunkers trucks.
I'm in the process of re-doing the body and interior on my 77 F-150. I think the newer seats look very out of place in the 70s truck. It reminds me of taking a Cadillac seat and putting it in a Model T! OK, it's not that extreme but it just doesn't look correct to me. I am going to buy a re-upholstery kit from either LMC, AutoCrafters etc for around $225 and re-upholster the seat myself.
My uncle put a bench seat from a bronco in my truck when he owned it and I love it. Its very comfortable. Plus i got 2 ashtrays going straight into the back of the cab lol
Thanks everyone for your hits. Good seats don't last long in the yards around here, so I left my # with them when one comes in.
Thanks Behemoth, Discountvantruck.com prices are about half of Suburbans.
I just ordered a black vinyl upholstery kit from Auto Krafters. It lists for $200 but this weekend they have 10% off of orders of interior parts if you order $200 or more so I got it for $180.
