DASHDAQ ?

anyone here using the dashdaq as a stand alone monitor on thier 6.0?

what do you like / dislike about it

price is reasonable compared to separate gauges you would have to buy

my truck is an 03 6.0 would like to monitor boost, oil, coolant temp.

& egt

Several people on this site including myself use the Edge Insight, If your looking into purchasing a monitor I would compare the features of both before buying.

I have the Spartan Phalanx/DashDaq. But the DashDaq alone is a great system. More visual than the insight. and you can change it's skins. It's more expensive than the insight though. I do feel it's worth it.

With Boost and EGT you will need to get the the required analog equipment to work with the DashDaq or Insight since the OBD system in the 03-07 F-250 doesn't support that.

Other than that, I chosse the DashDaq.

PM me with anymore questions you might have about the DashDaq.

The insight will show boost, but if want to monitor EGT's you will need a exhaust probe which is around $80 extra.

OK...I stand corrected. DashDaq can and will measure boost with a tweak! EGT is just like the insight with the add of the EGT probe.

Before you pick up the phone and order, you can buy the Insight on Ebay for $250 shipped overnight, and the pyro probe for $80. That's almost $50 less. I got my Insight from autoanything. P.S. if you want the dash mount, it will be about $40 more.

Looked up the insight and can't find any definate information on what it will read from the 6.0 diesels.I went thru the pdf.s on instal etc, and it dosn't single out the Ford diesel.Just gives a gloryfied list of possibilitys. Does it read the following. engine coolant temp, engine oil temp, engine oil pressure, high and low systems, transmission temps, fuel pressure, voltage? you already stated it reads boost, and with opt. probe will read egt.s. These are important to me to watch.
Ive added up the gauges and pods and it will be about 650.00 dollars I can find the Insight on several sights for sale at 249.00 with free shipping and the egt. probe for 80.00 so it is a cheaper, easier and faster set up if it will cover all the important functions I wish to monitor.. What other functions will it monitor our diesels? Your information is greatly appreciated.. thanks Doug..

There are several different features it monitors, I set mine up with 4 features per screen 1 st. screen reads RPM, speed, ECT, EOT. 2 nd. screen reads boost, MAP KPA, trans temp, trans turbine speed. any more then that and I would have to go outside and start it up and it's 18 F right now.
