Spike, are those rims the 17 inch stock rims that you put the 33 inch tires on? Who are your rain deflectors made buy? I cant stand the 3M tape that comes with most deflectors...

John, those are the OEM 16 x 7.0 rims.
Spike, Your truck looks great! Are those 33s equal to 285/75-16 or 295/75-16? Most tire dealers around here bulk at putting bigger tires on stock rims. Did you tire dealer give you any flack?

Thanks Petrol, that's what I thought and I also wondered about getting larger tires on stock rims....
Hey folks,
I wrote a nice long post yesterday, but it wouldn't post, so here goes again.
Like Petrol said, they are the factory 16" rims.
I thought with spending a load of money on a lift & new tires, I'd at least try & save a little money, by keeping the factory rims for the moment.
They tires are the 285-75 R16, which equates to 33"
The only thing I don't like, is the tires don't stick out very much, making the truck look a bit narrow.
This will save the paint work on the side of my truck from stone chips though.
I actually got the tires on the truck a week before I got the lift. The tires looked pretty cool just like that, as it filled in those empty wheel wells. And no rubbing at all.
One problem I do have now is, each time I look at my truck I keep thinking maybe I should go a little bigger with the tires
jcb67 --- The rain deflectors are by Ventashield (I think)
They were the only thing already on the truck when I got her last September. They are 3m tape by the looks of it, but they seem to be stuck pretty solid.
kwb377 --- Yeah it is 4x4
Petrol --- No the tire dealer didn't say anything about putting them on the factory rims. He actually suggested the tires, as he has some on his Superduty.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Jun-02 AT 05:49 PM (EST)]Stupid question, do you have to put a lift on the expy when putting on larger tires? or is it just that larger tires fill the wheel well??
I have 315/75-16's on my expy. The wheels are Enkei 16x8's. I had them on the stock wheels for a while, but they were really just too wide. I have no lift! I would like one though, 3 or 4" would be perfect! I have no rubbing, I had to trim the front bumper valance to make keep it from rubbing there though. I have considered a 3" body lift, any suggestions?
Anyone know of a suspension lift for a 2003 expedition fx4 I already have the 3" leveling kit and the rancho my ride shock kit with 35" tires with front and rear recievers that will hold my 17500 recon whinch but I would like to and about 4 more inches to it
