I have a tilt column out of a '78 Bronco, however it won't stay in position it slips down if you rest your arm on it. Can this be fixed? I'm told the gears in it are probably striped and that I should look for a different column. If so what's a good aftermarket one?
I think also you can build up the metal on your column where it is worn down. Although I haven't heard of anyone doing this. From what I remember when I had my tilt column apart it seems that it could be done.
