Over the last few days, just after a cold start, my 5.4l 6 speed auto truck has a light vibration from somewhere in the driveline. The vibration comes and goes. It happens at various speeds and lasts only a few seconds. It does not appear to be related to either engine or vehicle speed and appears to be independent of what gear it is in. I have been having a hard time isolating it as it seems to come first from different areas of the truck at random.
The vibration seems to go away once the truck has warmed up.
How cold is cold? Being an old diesel man, I will allow my gasser to warm up about 5 minutes before I start my run if the temps are in the 20's or less. That seems to help. Chris
hello my name is Chris, Just replying to your vibe issues, I have a 2009 150 and I'm having vibration issues at any speed and at any temp? it's kind of hard to explain the actual noise, but almost soundS like a humming noise.I don't think its the tranny more tire or drive line noise any feed back would be great!
Yeah, the best description I can give is that it feels similar to driving on a rumble strip or over a metal grate bridge except not as strong.
It comes and goes for a second or up to several seconds and goes away once I have driven a few miles.
As of about a week ago it has stopped although I have no idea why, I did not make any changes and conditions are the same as when it was happening every day.
I tried all of the following but none affected the vibration:
Step on brake
Accelerate
Coast
Turn
Put in 4WD
