Hey guys the other day the power cable going to my starter broke off at the connection. So 120 bucks later i was putting the new cable on today and theres a small red wire that comes off the main power cable and goes to the starter right above the power cable. Does anyone know what it does? I ask because we put the power and ground cables on first and now cant get the nut on to holld the small red cable tight. Seeing as hows its minus 3 degrees outside now I dont wanna take them both off again. Will my truck die again if that small red cable comes off?

The small red cable goes to the actual (internal) starter relay. We have two, one on the passenger fender and it powers that red wire you referenced. If you don't turn the key or anything and at -3 just go to bed then try to get that red wire on the connection when it warms up a bit.
Alright thanks for the info. Any chance you know what size bolts hold on the starter? Last time I had tranny work done they mustve forgot to tighten them all the way and one backed out completely and the others were loose.
