I just picked up my dads 99 Navigator, it was stolen and random pieces taken off(bought from ins. company for $1500)
So I started replacing everything that was taken the only missing from the enigine bay was the battery(later i found the relay) After putting in a new battery I tried to turn it on but Nothing. After some trouble shooting the Relay popped mind.
I checked for it and it wasn't there...but the cables were. I went to the local lincoln dealership and picked one up.
now how do i install it? Which cables go to what post?the is a cable coming from the alternator, another thick red cable coming from the firewall and 2 cables coming from the positive side of the battery/
i search for an picutres of it but i cant find any...
Are the 2 larger posts side by side with the smaller post above it? If that is how it is let me know as that is how it is on a 98 Expy and I can help you. I know it is different on a 01 Supercrew that I worked on recently.
yeah thats the one..
the small one is the starter switch, and i havent figured out the other ones?
but on the cables coming from the battery the cables have markings Ie: 3 or2 holes cut out just for this purpose....to set them right
If it is the same as my 98 the cable coming from the battery has 2 wires that are molded so one goes to one large terminal and one to the other. The one with the thinner wire goes to the left terminal as you are looking at it and the other of course goes to the right. Any other wires such as alternator get attached to the right terminal. The thinner wire actually goes to another selionoid on the starter.
