I have been reading your forim for a while and I am hoping you guys might be able to help me out.
I have an '08 6.4 with and Edge Evolution and a AFE intake. I keep the Evo set on 1 all the time. The other day I was pulling my trailer down hill when it went in to regen. At the bottom of the hill, my display read "Stop safely now". As I pulled over it shut off and wouldn't restart for about an hour.
Ford has it now and they are telling me the intake is causing the problem and want to charge me $600 for a new stock intake. I am wondering if this is truely possible or not and if so, is there a intake that won't cause this.
I got the truck back from the dealership. Turns out there was a bad exhaust temp sensor and it was not the intake as they originally thought. The tech said I will get codes popping up as long as I have the intake, but that is not was caused the truck to shtu down.
Thanks for your guys help though. It's nice to have a place to turn to besides the dealership.
I used to get P2002 Codes every two or three weeks with my Banks intake but never had it go into "Limp Mode" before - not sure why that happened. The P2002 basically states that something is wrong with the emissions control system because it's seeing too much air flow. I used to just reset it with my code reader and be fine for another 2 or 3 weeks. Now I have an SCT tuner and it asks if you have an aftermarket intake and then corrects for it. No more codes now.
I used to get the same P2002 code with my AFE CIA until I did the Spartan DOC/DPF delete. I would just reset it when I had the chance & drive on. No biggie.....
