Engine Rebuild Question For 302

I am working on my first engine rebuild. My F100 has about 138000 miles on its 302. I am just wondering what kind of cam I should think about putting in it. The truck had decent power so I am not looking for anything really "high performance" I am just trying to make the truck more driveable and reliable. So probably something pretty close to stock. But is there a difference between a cam for a four barrel and a cam for a two barrel? The truck had a two barrel originally but has had a four for the last three years and will have that one put back on it. Just wondering what I should do here? Thanks

You don't mention what you are running for an intake manifold or your exhaust system. If you go to the Comp Cams website you will find all kinds of cams for that engine.

I have an edelbrock performer 302 intake, 600cfm holley carb, and dual exhaust coming off of Flowtech headers into dynomax mufflers. Thanks

Well you have the basics.Look through those cam listings, and determine what you want from the cam and engine. The thing about cam changes is that it might entail some other upgrades to your valvetrain as well.Be sure to read all the footnotes when looking at the cam profiles, and the specs as well.Let us know what you decide on.
