Disc brake pads
Over the years I have been using no name brake shoes and pads from the cheapie discount parts houses, I recently completely rebuilt the rear brakes on my ' 78 F150 Supercab, with all new Wagner shoes, hardware, and wheel cylinders, so thats done, now on to the front discs......I'm going to replace the rotors with AMERICAN made units, and need suggestions for what type of pad would be best, I've heard about the new "carbon friction" and "carbon fiber" pads, but are these the way to go? I do mostly around town driving with my truck, and don't carry loads often, cost is no concern to safety here!!!!!! THANKS !! Rick

I put the carbon fiber pads on the front of my 92 and they were real grabby when wet. That is when it was raining, the first few times I applied the brakes they would grab and the truck would stop real sudden but after a couple of stops they would dry out and work fine. The reason I bought the carbon fiber pads in the first place was because I wanted the best available at the time I was rebuilding my brakes abd they were it.
