Folks,
not sure which tranny is in the 97 Expy I purchased. Not listed on the original window sticker..yes, previous owner had every (and I mean every) piece of literature, repair bills, etc. But no where does it say which transmission is in the Expy, E40D or other. VIN decode doesn't help. 97 Expy, EB, 5.4 L

Any suggestions, gratefully received.

 

Read the TR code on the driver's door label. It is not encoded in the VIN.

U — Automatic, 4 speed, 4R70W.
E — Automatic, 4 speed, E40D
