Rough idle

my 292 kinda did that. when it was cold it would idle fine, but slowly go down in RPM and eventually it would just die if you didn't rev the engine every 30 seconds or so.
I rebuilt the carburetor recently and it idles very well now and does not hesitate like it used to when it pressed the gas.
If it still has the original carb on it, i would recommend rebuilding it. its about $20 for a rebuild kit and its well worth it. just be sure you get that carb really squeaky clean and all the dirt and carbon off. be very careful and pay close attention to it when you take it apart. the diagram that comes in the box isnt very good. i suppose it depends who makes the kit, but the one i had wasnt very helpfull at all. it just said "reassemble oposite of dissassembly", which wasnt very helpful.
when you rebuild it you will need the type of carburetor it is. saying "a 2 barrel on a 1963 292 f100" wont cut it, as there are 3 kits available from napa under that description. the number is on thin piece of steel bolted on the carb. on mine you had to remover the airfilter to find it and i had to scrap the dirt/mud/crud off to read it.
i dont know for a fact that that is your problem, but i would be willing to bet it is.
