I want to thank everyone who has suggested the DP tuner! I also want to thank jody for this product. When i put it in i found out it already had a western diesel turbo chip in it, what a pice of crap that was. The diffrenece is amazing. It made my transmission feel like it was brand new.
I got the f5 and it surpassed all my expectations.
I have 5in turbo back pipe and EGT, BOOST, TRANS, OIL, gauges. Right now i only have a k&n air filter. I only drove it a few blocks so far, looking farward for the drive to work tomarrow. Havent noticed any surge yet but have not went very far.
The K&N's don't seem to do too well in front of our turbos. Especially with a good chip. I'd suggest closely inspecting the intake tube for any signs of dust and changing filters as soon as you see any.
If you've got a K&N drop in filter, odds are there's already a decent amount of dirt in the intake. If it's a cold air K&N, you may or may not be ok so far. Either way, the 6637 mod is the cheap intake that filters well.
I ordered the F6 chip right after Xmas wih just the 80e for now. I couldn't afford the 60t after I got the oba. and I want either the 120 or 140 tunes but need to talk to someone to find out the difference between the two 140 tunes and the 120 race. I'd also like a tune for truck pulls like the tdp where it only goes into 2nd gear. ( I think it's tdp) Maybe a fun Dyno tune also where it will lock in 3rd gear.
Lots to think about.
I hope I get the chip before my 400 mile trip. The truck only got 15mpg last week on the same trip. I'd like to see an improvement seeing as though diesel has risen to over 3.00$ gallon.
