I have a big problem,I had to JB weld the fuel control manifold last year. Took it off today to clean the screen at the top of the bowl. I forgot i jb welded it and when i put it back on the leak is back!!!!!!!! Anyone know if u can even buy this anywhere. I guess ill call ford tomorrow? Or redo the jb weld tonight. Any help is much appriciated you guys are awesome. This is my first post, is it good enough??
First off... Welcome to FTE! Very good group of guys and gals here that will help you with any problems that you may come across.
Second... I'm going to guess that you are talking about the fuel bowl too, on top of the motor, infront of the turbo and holds the filter? If you are talking about that then what i would do is grind down the JB and reapply it. I dont know if it is actually $130 form Ford but i do remember someone saying that they wanted an arm and a leg for it.
No if it is a fuel bowl assembly thats how they come as far as I am aware it is 560 Bucks from ford i got a Buddy at ford who sold it to me for 240 bucks!!!
I was thinking it was the FPR too. My best parts store is the junkyard. I would poke around the junkyard for something like that.
Keep us posted on what you find!
OH and WELCOME TO FTE!!!
I guess it is the fpr, it attaches to the top of the Fuel Bowl on the drivers side, it has the vaccum switch in it. I had to take it off last night outside in 10 degrees. Could not fit it in shed to much junk in there now. I did the jb weld again, did some grinding on it first, used industrial strength this time!!! Put it on 6 am in the cold and it works!!!! I will need to find one soon, just in case. Thanks for the replys, you guys are great with all your knowledge.
