390 exhaust gaskets

I have a 390 in my 75 f-250 4x4, and on one side it has the bushing gasket thing and on the other it has a flat gasket, I have been to 2 different places looking for a gasket, the first gave me too big of one and the second gave me to small. Is this the way it is supposed to be and is there a way to make it stop leaking all the time?
