I recently had a bulb on my clearance lights go out so while I was replacing it rather than go in and out of there regularly risking a leak I changed all of the bulbs over to LED's now Im kinda concidering getting a little crazy and changing everything over to em. Taillights, turn signals, front markers, everything I can find one for. Was curious if anybody has done something like this and how it looks, opinions etc.
You can get em. Depending on the size of the bulb the number of LED's changes like the 194's on my cab were replaced with 4 LED's. The only trick is they come precolored IE amber or red. You can get em in white but they cost a whole lot more, was told its easy to get em to generate a color but white is a lot harder, thus more expensive. Either way they're so bright that amber with an amber lense is still bright. 1157' s have like 25 LED's in em. That and if you wre to change all the bulbs in your truck to em they;d use less energy than a single 1157 making your alternator last a lot longer.
I replaced all of mine. Go to superbrightled's and there is a chart to cross reference your old bulbs to the new ones. I have done my cluster lighting, markers and cab visor lights in led so far. So much better!
I heard something about not using LED's in the taillights and brake light because it won't trigger the cruise control or something like that... I'd look into it.

The bulbs at superbrightled's have resistors in them so you can use cruise and everything. I can even dim my cluster lights(can't do that with ebay led's) Pretty good company to deal with too, and they have every bulb imaginable

seems to me there would be a issue with the flashers like turn signals and 4 ways too because the flasher part operates off current draw of the bulbs. since LEDS only draw a fraction of what an incandescent bulb does even with the resistor they probably would not flash for you.

Mine flash fine, no issues whatsoever. Same as normal bulbs, just better and brighter!
I'd recomend checking out a website called gorecon.com, however I believe there lights only go back to 1999 fords, i could be wrong but they do have some nice lookin stuff, and it'll give you some idea of what the trucks look like with full led lighting.
With LED's you gotta be careful.
Some are not very bright, and such.
There are some good tail lights out there, but some are just junk.
Sometimes there is issues switching the blinkers over as well due to the loss of the load on the circuit, so sometimes you have to modify circuits or the blinkers act like there is a bulb out and blink really fast.
You can also get LED dash cluster lights. Those are what I would do, with the clearance lights.
I thought about markers, but have decided to not do those.
If your going to do your dash cluster, dont forget to replace the ones behind the climate controlls as well, they are the same ones.

And also on the cluster, make sure you get a wide angle L.e.d. Some only have a 22 degree to 90 degree. They with not evenly distribute the light. I have a 220 degree and they're pretty much the *****
I don't sorry, and I would snap some, but I need to buy a new camera. Last one got lost on the osage river. lol! I'll tell you though it is super bright/super even light. I ended up doin mine in red, and i can still use my dimmer. It's easy, it's a plug and play bulb

So they're a red bulb thru the green backing? Do you still get some green tint to the lighting?
I'd be using the white bulb and just wondered if that bulb thru the factory green backing would look like the Isspro EV2 gauges (which seem to be a little brighter than the factory obs dash).
