what oil can i use in my tranny to shut up the syncros? i have a 92 f150 i6 5spd and sometimes the tranny is just loud enough to drive me insane. what oil is supposed to go in these trannys anyway?
They use automatic trans fluid. I put full synthetic in my 92F150 4x4 with a 5.0 5sp this summer. Used just under 4 quarts. It made a big difference on how smooth it shifted.
sometimes if you have a custom it can be loud in the cab... my advice if you do have a custom... put a jacket or old towel around your stick on the floor... takes 30% of the noise away...
i put royal purple (ATF Max synthetic) in my trannys and 75w140 synthetic in my diffs... Mobil 1 is also a great top rated synthetic brand that I use...
