93 F-250 ex-cab long bed 460/E4OD..........37,000 original miles, drives and looks new.....I think its a keeper!.....(passed on a 01 F-250 5.4 SD with 110,000 miles in favor of the 93, I think it was a wise decision.)
and on topic my 87 2 owner F150 with 300 straight 6 has 475,000 - 480,000 original miles and the motor has never been opened up for any reason. and Yes when I was still driving it it road damn smooth pretty close to the smoothness of the 92 Crown Vic my wife had briefly before the 4.6L blew the head gaskets
I am the 2nd owner of a 88 F150 Reg. cab long bed, 4 wheel drive. Its got a 302 auto. the cool part is my boss bought it new and it was a personal truck for the first 4 years of its life, probably around the first 30,000 mi. Then it became a company truck and pulled anhydrous ammonia wagons for a living. we mostly pull 2 at a time, thats 20,000 lbs. plus it always had 5 or 6 different guys driving it and since it wasn't they're truck it was drove like they stole it!! it never gave them a minutes trouble. then around 150,000 or 160,000 one guy was moving wagons around the lot,, spinning the wheels until the truck wouldn't pull its self. Instead of telling someone, he drove it back to the plant in 1st gear. when he got there the transmission case was soo hot all the old grease was running off. We figured it was toast, changed the fluid and filter and it was fine. trans and engine haven't been touched other than oil changes. and now has 193,000 miles. and its just a lil 302!!! lol
140k on my f150. It's lived a pretty rough life though - box is gone, pass fender replaced, drivers side and radiator support will be next.
ZF5 swap when the E4OD started to go bannanas. Patched up floor and body mounts. Took out an ugly 3" body lift.
She still starts right up, gets 17 mpg, and hasn't let me down! Last saturday, i stupidly stalled it at a traffic light after 3 hours of highway cruising and wouldn't start. Hopped out...pushed....hopped in..kick start..away I went. Seems like the starter gets hot now that the body lift is out?
