I did get it at the local Ford dealer. It is a pretty straight forward fix.

All I did was took some simple green and a tooth brush to the entire mechanism first. This cleaned off all of the gunk that had accumulated over time. I then took a little bearing grease and covered the edges of the spring and at the pivot points of the mechanism. 3rd, I sprayed white lithium grease down the cable housing. I pulled up on the handle about 30 times to work in the grease. I did the same on the catch mechanism down lower on the door. Now I can pull the handle up with my pinky finger, no effort at all.

this is almost funny, I try to get the plastic ones as the metal ones don't last the cowboys more than a few months.

The cables will cut into the housing making it hard to open the door. I got lucky and the wind bent the crap outta my door so i went to the junk yard and got a new door off a 150 and replaced it. There was a groove in the cable housing on the old door. I snapped 4 door handles.
