Ok, I have an 03 F250 auto with the V10. when I start the engine the truck makes a forward movment, then seems to settle back. The truck seems to run and shift fine otherwise. Any suggstions? Is this a hint of troubles to come?
I've never heard of it working quite like that. High line pressure in the transmission can cause a lurch or jump when shifting into drive. A lurch while starting sounds like the transmission is spinning forward when it should be locked in park. I would suggest trying to start the truck in neutral to see if it changes anything.

My 03 F-250 5.4L has done that since the day I got it---So far, no problems !!!
well, it has been cold the last few weeks(15 low 30-40's for high). I will try the neutral start in the morning. Good to know i'm not the only one and it doesn't sound like its gonna fall out anytime soon. Thanks for info.
