I have a 1992 F 150 with the 6 cylinder engine. Occasionally when I start it it will stall and the check engine light will come on. I restart it and it is fine. It will idle normal then rev high for a second then idle normal. Seems to be when it is just started. I can drive it for miles and has no issues. Truck sat for a long period of time before I bought it. Any thoughts? Thanks

 

Check for codes. The CEL doesn't have to be to have problem codes stored.

Be sure NOT to disconnect the battery before retrieving them.
