Hard cold start symptoms

Unless it has been driven most of it's life in a long haul situation, I would hope, for your sake, the glow plugs are going south. Have you ohmed them yet?

I haven't ohmed the glow plugs yet. Possibly today. Seems like I'm having to drive the truck quite a bit the last couple days, and I'm assuming she's supposed to be cold when checking the plugs, correct?

I don't like to get burnt so I check them cold. Now if you let it sit for a few hours in winter weather and drive it in, that should suffice.

Warmed up...whatever I happened to be in when I shut if off.
Whatever Jody does with the tuners really helps.
