Hey all, It has been awhile since I have been in this forum. I have been stuck in the 7.3 diesel threads. Well anyway, I have a question. I got some money and want to get my '49 F-3 on the road. I want to redo the front brakes and what not. So where is the best place to look for parts? I know LMC truck but are there any sponsors of the site that can get me a good deal? Also, does anyone have a link the the correct wheel studs for the F-3? All i can find is ones for an F-1. Thanks again, Hope all your projects are coming along well!
Nice seeing you again. Don't forget to check the local parts stores. I'm not sure if the same holds true for the F-3 but you can get all the brake hardware, etc for the F-1 trucks at local parts stores like NAPA, Autozone, etc
You might also check your local yellow pages for "Brake and Clutch".
The F-3s have different rear brakes, larger than the F-2. The best thing to do is change out the rear axle with a pre-'73 F-250 axle. You'll be able to find better gearing and will be able to find rims that will fit over the rear axle.
