I put a 429 in my 79 F250 4x4 with a c6 auto,my question is since i took the 400 out i have not hooked up the auto kick down linkage and i am wondering if i need to, what is really does, and if there is a factory one from a 460 in a 2wd from the lates that would work with my setup? did i do any harm or would i do any harm if i leave the kick down off?

i'll tell you ,you dont really need a kick down linkage for this combo, ive been running this same set up in my f-150 for well over 8 years with NO problems, i have some mods. to mine but i dont need it, these moters have plenty of power to pass , besides IF i really need to down shift just manual downshift on the column it doesnt hurt it.
