I want to put disk brakes on my 68' F100 2WD. In a few weeks I will be replacing my 352 with a 390 and adding p/s and a C6 trans. Is there a kit I can purchase to do the brake conversion? I need to replace the king pins, front springs, shocks and bushings anyway.
There's a well written article on a drum to disc conversion right here on the FTE home page. You'll find the article under the link for Technical Articles.
Elkman, I strongly urge you to purchase a donor 75-79 harvest and use the I-beams, steering gear, steering column, brake booster, part. valve, and make all the conversion at one time.
You can change out the I-beams with less work than changing parts.
Don't get rid of the donor until you are up and running and happy with the setup.
Good luck,
John
