When idling my pickup makes a vibrating noise i hear very well from inside the cab and dont hear it as well in the engine compartment is there it only does it at idle either in gear or park but under power no noise just wondering what all it could be its the 99 f250 with 278k 4x4 thanks
Mine also does that. Did you change your CPS lately? I noticed after I switched the CPS to the blue international one. With the gray CPS it did not do it so I am assuming its a timing issue and it does it more in the colder weather here. They told me the blue one is nice but if you can get your hands on a black one before the recall Im told thats the cats meow. Havent had any luck getting one of those though.
im assuming by that you mean the cam postition sensor and no i havent although i plugged the egde into it i believe after looking around on my pickup some more its coming from the torque converter as its at the front of the tranny it was really bad this morning when it was pretty cold out at first start up maybe the bts tranny is closer than i realize

Well, if you remove that cover at the front of the tranny you'll know for sure. Mine was so loud it hurt your ears! If you have rattle can syndrome, there will be no mistaking it with the cover off. Another trick is find an area where you can gradually accelerate from ~32-39 mph, listen for that noise, and the absence of that noise once your T/C locks up.
i do i have 4in from turbo back with cat delete i will look at all those in the morning i live off a state highway that is usually dead on sun morning so the drive test will be easy the new tranny from bts would have a new tc right should i aslo upgrade the flexplate while im in there

You should be able to let your truck idle and climb under there, emergency brake engaged of course and see how much room between that cross member bolt to your exhaust, won't be much. I heard mine rattling at idle and stops and on exceleration, here's a pic . Let us know what you find, exhaust dinging is alot better than a tranny rattle, thats for sure. If you get a new tranny from BTS, everything gets replaced.
will do thats a great pic very clean under carriage how do you like that bb turbo thats the one i am leaning to did it make a huge difference with the rest of your mods
Thanks, I try to keep it clean. As for the turbo, yes, lower EGT's better throttle response but mostly top end, found that out last year at the track in Ten. To fully appreciate this turbo is to get a nice set of injectors, hybrids is what I'm shooting for, got a few other mods to do before that though. These turbos also sound very good and strong, sweet whistling sound, love it.
