The more I look at this truck the more I want it on mine. I have searched another site and the 73-79 hood will work. I am going to use the 73-79 inner fenders as mine are rusted out, rad support, hood hinges and hood. You can also us the 67-72 stuff with little mods like the hood latch, 67 they are on the hood 73 they are on the rad support.

So the 73-79 hood WILL work with the stock 67-72 inner fenders and hinges, correct? I found a good hood from a '75 I really want to put on my '69, but my inner fenders and hinges are inperfect shape and painted already. Don't really want to switch. Also, has anyone done this swap and have pictures? Do all the body lines line up? Thanks for any help.

So, I picked up the dentside hood. Found a rust free one with only one small dent at the local yard. As far as compatability, here's the deal. This hood WIIL NOT work on the bumpsides without some real modification. The mounting holes for the hinges are too wide (if using the bumpside hinges and inner fenders.) That's a pretty easy fix, but the contour of the hood is different. The sides have an overhang that is almost flush at the front and gradually sticks out farther toward the rear. The hood is probably a good 3/4 inches too wide on the rear portion of each side. The inner reinforcing structure would have to be angle cut and the sides pushed in and welded back. All in all, it's not that hard a fab job for a totally custom hood, but still some work. Also, after looking at it actually on the truck, I'm disappointed that I don't like the looks of it. Just seems to look a little more 80's. Looses a little of that 60's flair. So if anyone needs a hood for a 73-79, give me a shout.

The hood has about 3K in metal work done to it to fit it looks sectioned and nosed.

But it sure is pretty.

I was at the F100 Supernationals yesterday in Pigeon Forge and this truck went for a photo shoot and was coming back to the show site. At the entrance he was trying to get in and Ford Escape backed into him and damaged the hood and front bumper. Truck is still driveable and all but I am sure getting another hood to fit and all will be a job. These pics were before the accident.

You'd think that a car show would be a pretty safe place to drive your car without an accident, huh? If anyone knows who owns that blue shortbed or has any more pictures of it, please post them. I LOVE that truck!

I talked to the guy that owns the blue Ford. He did actually pie cut the hood to make it fit but he also removed the entire underside leaving only the outer skin. He built a frame out of square tubing and then shaped the hood to fit. The hood hinges forward via some hinges that he made himself. What is really nice about this truck is the tip of the bump on the bumside is shaved down flat with a custom aluminum trim piece that he made on it. The front fenders have been shaped into the Econoline van rear bumper. He did an amazing job on it and he did some awesome welding as well. He custom built a lot of the engine parts. Here is a link to it in a magazine Classic Lines With Pro Touring Prowess | Street Trucks Take a look at that rear bumper in the pictures from the magazine.

Turtlenek, did you happen to take any pictures of the hood when you set it on your truck? I really want this hood. I don't like how the front of the 67-72 hood fits and isn't wide enough to match the top of the fenders. You can't push the fenders in like Kirk Johnson did with that silver GT-F100 unless you norrow the grille. I was going to try to undo the inner structure of my bump hood , slice it and pull it out wider to make it fit but I haven't tried it yet. I don't know which one would be harder to do. I'm a long ways from working on the hood though.
