Ball Joints

On a 1990 Ford f150 how much would a set of lower ball joints cost alone then around how much would a shop charge to put them in and to get them themselves? Are the Ball joints on the 88-96 press fitted or will a hammer get them out?

Let's see.
Check CSK or Autozone, Rock Auto etc for prices for the joints.
No one can just tell you how much it's going to be for a shop to do it. If you want to know, call around. I got quotes from 800-1500 bucks before I decided to do it myself.
They are pressed in. Don't use a hammer. You can get the tool from most auto parts stores for a deposit.

No hammer, dude!

Bronco Ball Joint Replacement - Trucks 4x4 @ Off-Road.com

Good joints will be about $200 for a set of four. Half that for the cheapos. Install will be around $450 on up for labor, plus the parts, plus the shop markup on the parts.
