I took the little one to McD's for breakfast...getting there was cake...getting home was not.

I buried my car in my own driveway....

Oh well, we dug it out, and after approximately 52 attempts, I got it up the driveway and into the garage where it is now thawing out...

I spun the Tracker on I-44 last winter with the youngest in the car with me because I didn't have it in 4wd. Now every time the weather has been bad, I get a stern warning from her to keep it in 4wd.

I wonder how your little one will tell the story...

Oh, she's fine...we made it to breakfast and back and were in the driveway when I got it stuck...she just walked into the house and laughed while I dug it out...

About 7 years ago, everything turned to ice while I was at work. i managed to drive the hour home without incodent, but when I tried to go up my drive way I ended up in the ditch.
i pulled in as far left as I could, and turned right to go up the drive way and made it about 15 feet and my truck started sliding sideways. So I stepped on the gas and managed to get up a few feet more as it was sliding. Then the rearend slid outand I went backwards acros the grass, which was a thick sheet of ice. the truck ended up backwards in the ditch, with my receiver hitch burried below the road bed.
No way to get any traction, so I went got my pick axe, and tried to chip away the ice. That was fruitless effort. I then called my friend's tow company, and he says their 4x4 tow truck was broke down and they wouldn't be able to get any of their other trucks down my road.
I had all the company tools and stuff on my truck, so I couldn't leave it all there over night, so I start unloading it. Then this good ooe boy comes driving up the road in his old beat up Chevy truck and asks if I need help getting out, of course I do. So we hook up a30 ft. logging chain to the front of truck, and he start off up the road, and the front of truck gets pulled sideways down the hill I was stuck on, then up to the road edge where it stops suddenly and the right side tires come off the ground for a moment. He stops and we hook the chain to theright front of the truck and he pulls me the rest of the way back on to the road.
He then sticks around while I try to get up my driveway again, and this time I make it up, but I didn't want to stop til I got to the top, which meant I had to go back to where I had unloaded the tools, and walk back and forth several times with as much stuff as I can carry each time.
I thanked the guy for helping me, offered him some money, which he didn't want, then he left chuggging back up the road in his old beat up Chevy truck.

The first winter I had my Ram I slid it off into the ditch in front of the house (trying to miss the other yo-yo stuck in the ditch) when a kid stopped with a beat-up 70's Power Wagon. Same story - logging chain and out I was. He refused cash - he was having fun pulling people out with Grand-pa's truck on his way to work.

I keep my eyes open when the weather is like this to help others when I can - I'll just pay it forward.

Howdy rest of Misery. None of that shtuff coming down here right now. Just ccccccccccccold. Less than 10° at 9:45 in the morning. Something just ain't right. Should be at least 60° now on its way to 75°. Found out last night they canceled school yesterday & today. Just called to verify & be sure my field trip was canceled. They tell me the trip is NOT canceled ( yet ). They said they'll call me if it is.

Morning guys. A blistering -10 when I came in this morning. Just glad the wind isn't still doing 40-50 like yesterday.

Holy Cow, that's cold.

Makes me grateful to be in my nice warm house...lounging about in my Ford jammies.

Good morning boys and girls.
