LEDlights/bulbs ????

I would like to change over from conventional tail-stop/turn bulbs to the LEDversions what do I order? I saw that the rearlights have a flatconnection and the frontmarker/turn a round one.
I found the round ones on the net but not the flat ones.
can anyone help or advise?

and everyone a happy new year

greetings George

What are you working on.There are a couple of guys on here that are just buying the leds and soldering them on a board to have a real led light instead of a bulb.

state of the art huh?lol. dutchford150 welcome to FTE and the idi forum you can do a couple of things you can buy the bulbs already in an led cluster that are plug and play(kinda spendy),or you can go extreme like me and make clear lenses with colored led bulbs and resistors.i am planning on making the clear lenses because i am bored ,laid off ,and my new hobby is to drive the ole lady crazy by soldering stuff on the coffee table in the living room.i have all the stuff to get started but havent figured out how im going to shape the lenses to look nice on my truck.keep us updated on what you do and post some pics if you can,and again welcome to the forum were glad to have ya!!

Keep us informed on this led thing. I don't like the plug in lede that I have seen and was thinking about cutting the back of my taillights to accept the oblong trailer lights, but your way sounds like it will fit the bill.

Dutchford,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

What truck are you running?

Front bulbs should be 1157 A for the parking/turn signal
194 A for the side/cab marker lights

My 86 had 194 R side marker lights
1157 R stop/turn/tail bulbs

Rupe when those first came out I tried them, I didnt like how they lighted the tail light and didn't have very good luck with them. I think if you can spread them out on a board and use 24 to 40 leds it would be a lot nicer looking light.

Something I was wondering can the instrument cluster lights be replaced with LED's that are adjustable with the dimmer switch? I have the hardest time seeing the cluster at night.
